The 5th Annual Pedal for Protein raised $53,568, and was a 6-day ride exploring Humboldt County’s endless redwoods and brutal hills. Twenty riders persevered over 16,262 feet of vertical climb in the first three days to provide protein needs of the hungry in Northern California and beyond. On Saturday September 29 there was a fun one-day ride in Santa Rosa, despite a few showers, 30 riders enjoyed the bike trails and Knox Church hosted a kids bike rodeo and lunch.
Special thanks to:
- the 7 “angel” riders from the 6-day ride who came and helped for the one-day ride
- the members and host congregations of the Redwoods Presbytery
- staff members at Camp Mattole and Elk Meadow Cabins in Orick
